Building a Brand That Could Travel

JobsFirst grew out of the proven work of JobsFirstNYC, which brings education, employers, and community organizations together around economic mobility for young adults. When the organization's strategic plan called for expanding into new regions, it needed a brand that could go with it. Friday partnered with JobsFirst on brand strategy, identity, messaging, and a new website.

Expanding into new regions meant JobsFirst would be speaking to very different audiences at once. Nationally, the brand had to make the case to funders investing in scale. Regionally, each Local Driver needed to reach the educators, employers, and community partners on the ground. Each group valued something different.
JobsFirst needed one identity strong and flexible enough to hold many regions. Comparable national networks balance shared practice with local ownership. Friday and JobsFirst built a brand positioning JobsFirst as holding the process, tools, and outcomes framework. Local Drivers adapt those elements to their own communities, partners, and challenges.
Friday built a brand system that lets JobsFirst multiply without losing cohesion. A rippling five-line logomark stands for the five-step process, and the messaging trades "intermediary" for a more energizing frame: JobsFirst as a movement by design. Every Local Driver shares JobsFirst Blue and the logo lockup, then claims its own accent: JobsFirstNYC in Chartreuse, JobsFirstNEPA in Teal, JobsFirst Southern Nevada in Gold.
